Microsoft Edge (not even a frakking editor tacked-on PDF viewer on a browser wouldn't trust it to tie its own shoelaces)ĮDIT: Thanks to the community for all the suggestions. PDF Xchange Editor (annoying to use over-complicated paywalled features) So far, I've tried (and found unsuitable):Īdobe Acrobat (over-complicated paywalled features) I've used Windows before, but not for a long time, and Google has been very unhelpful in tracking down a suitable program. If anyone has a program that they use to edit and view PDFs, I would be very grateful if you could share your choice of software with me. It also didn't require more than a single button press to accomplish most things, and form fillable PDFs could be completed really efficiently. I mean, sure, you had to buy a Mac if you wanted to get the program the normal way (Hackintoshes aside), but it came with the computer, and was incredibly flexible at no additional cost. On Mac, I had Preview, which was simple, efficient, and had all the right features. (and no Edge is a browser, not a PDF viewer/editor)Ī quick browse through the selection of third-party programs reveals that most are freeware with premium features, others are freeware with adware included (which I adamantly refuse to subject my brand new laptop to), and the rest are over complicated nightmares with a learning curve as steep as your average rock climbing wall. So, I just switched from MacOS to Windows 10, and I am mildly annoyed that there's no native PDF viewer.
